Champions League Report (Ronaldo dazzled for Madrid)

Real Madrid 3 – 0 Wolfsburg (AGG. 3 - 2)

Manchester City 1 – 0 PSG (AGG. 3 - 2)

Cristiano Ronaldo hat trick was enough to put Madrid through to the semi final. The Portuguese scored two goals in the first half to cancel out the two deficit goals they conceded in Germany last week and ended the hope of Wolfsburg to reach the semi final of the champions league with another great finish in the second half.
Having lost the first leg in Germany last week with two goals, the Blancos knew they have a huge task in the second leg to overturn the deficit. Ronaldo took the task on his head and scored two quick goals after 15 minutes in the first half, the first in the 15th minute and the second just about 90 seconds later. The third goal came through a free kick in the second half which took his champions league goal tally to 16 this season. Wolfsburg had the chances of its own, but was unable to convert any goal in 90 minutes of play. Madrid is on course for the 11th champions league.

Manchester City 1 – 0 PSG (AGG. 3 - 2)

In the other champions league game of the night, De Bruyne strike sent Manchester City to the first semi final ever in the history of City’s champions league. The Belgian smashed home from the edge of PSG’s box in the second half of the game. Having drawn the match at PSG last week 2 – 2, the return leg became Citizen’s game to lose.  Manchester city would have qualified on away goal rule if the game remained goalless, but De Bruyne strike put aside all doubt and qualified City for the semi final against all odds. City will be hoping to reach the final after this semi final qualification.
