Arik Air grounded over debt: passengers left stranded




A lot of passengers were left stranded at Lagos airport this morning as members of several aviation unions distrupted the largest indigenous airline.
Premium Times reported on Wednesday morning ''The operations of the Nigeria largest indigenous airline, Arik Air were disrupted by members of several aviation unions over an alleged N12.4billion debt owed the FAAN (Federal Airoort Authority of Nigeria.''
Sources claimed many passangers were left stranded at the GAT (General Aviation Terminal) of the Murtala Muhammed Airport as early as 6:30am as Arik Air was distrupted by the unions. Many passengers were seen asking for refund whike others were seen making alternative arrangement.
The unions said the resolved to blocking the airline from operations after long term negotiation over the debt failed.
