Three Osun Officials Kidnapped

OSUN STATE


Gunmen operating along Lokoja-Okene road kidnapped three Osun State officials while on official duty.

The officials that were kidnapped on their way back from official duty in Abuja are; Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Mrs. Adebimpe Ogunlumade; the Director, State Audit in the ministry, Mr. Tajudeen Badejoko; and the permanent secretary’s driver, Mr. Oladapo Ajani Arogundade.
Mr. Sunday Owoeye (The  Head of the Osun State Civil Service), confirmed the kidnapping of the officials.

Owoeye said, “The officials were returning from Abuja where they attended the briefing on the State and Local Government Reforms Project; a World Bank and European Union Programme.” On their way from Abuja between Obajana and Lokoja, the Kogi State capital and were forced to stop their car and three officials were violently whisked away.The  fourth occupant of the car said to be the state’s Auditor General reportedly escaped as the gunmen struck at Obajana  on  the highway.

Mr. Owoeye said they have alerted the security in Kogi about the matter and that anybody with useful information about the abduction should report to the security.
