92 armed herdsmen arrested by Soldiers in Abuja

Nigeria soldiers in Abuja arrested 92 herdsmen with arm. Capt. Bashir Jajira said 36 of the armed herdsmen were arrested at a checkpoint between the Federal Capital Territory and Nasarawa State by military men. The susoected herdsmen however claimed they were on a mission to recover their stolen cows.
The Captain said, the remaining 56 were arrested with arms also at another checkpoint at Dantata, along the Abuja Airport Road.
Military recovered the following from the herdsmen; one pump action gun, 19 cartridge dane guns,  28 cutlasses, 3 jack knives, 118 cartridge ammo 14 sticks, 7 torch lights,  hard drugs, certificate of occupancy, and assorted charms.’

He said, “A group of 36 herdsmen in Diana Truck and Toyota Camry car with registration number Abu Kuje 994 FX and Niger SUL 541 XA were intercepted and arrested at 177 Guards Battalion location by Keffi checkpoint.

“When the troops were interrogating them at the checkpoint, they claimed to be going to Nasarawa Local Government in Nasarawa State.” The Captain however said, the suspects will be hand over to the Police.
